Awesome New Book by Stormy Monday – Soul Seeds posted by on November 21, 2010

News Flash -Soul Seeds the Awesome New Book by Stormy Monday just Released

Excerpt from Soul Seeds:

“I walked away from life for quite awhile. I kicked it like drifting sand on a beach. There were old cans and broken bottles strewn about, but I paid them no mind. I leaned on broken fences and stared through shattered glass for far too many years. People tried to know me, but, I didn’t know who they were trying to meet. One day a doctor said to me, “Say goodbye, you’re dying.” That night, as I slept, I dreamed the sand formed little trails around my feet. The cans and broken bottles were like little life boats and my fingers were covered in blood. My hands and arms grew heavy from their weight. The fences were now brand new and through a very clear window…I could see my soul. Stormy Monday”

Following his highly successful book, The Secret Path, Stormy Monday has wowed us again with another great book titled Soul Seeds.

A Little About Stormy Monday the Artist:

Stormy Monday was born on February 7th in Manchester, Tennessee. His childhood writing and drawing grew into the 80′s and 90′s, when Monday’s tilted view of the world could be found in galleries across Western and Southwestern America. In those early years, Monday painted, performed poetry and sold work on every gallery from Laguna Beach to Ocean Beach in San Diego. His style is singular. On canvas, Monday speaks his own language. His abstract depth coupled with his line and textures separate and define his individuality. His work leans toward surrealism and his finished canvas is both breath- taking and poetic. Monday’s subliminal themes envelop you in color and surprise you as the mystical faces suddenly appear throughout his many pieces. In 2010, his painting, Mardi Gras, landed in the top 5 Winners Circle in the Next American Master Artist competition. With thousands of entries from around the globe and the world at large voting, that’s an impressive finish and a testament to his fast growing legion of fans. Monday is also an award-winning poet. He continues to paint, write and inspire. His books include, “The Secret Path” and “Soul Seeds…for your Gardens in Life”, which is a collection of his mind teasing paintings and soul searching poetry. In mid 2011, look for his autobiography, “Standing in the Storm”.

The Stormy Monday Tour Catch it While You Can

Internationally
known modern abstract artist, award winning poet and best selling author, Stormy
Monday is currently taking the South-West by Storm.

Every time Stormy
Monday
paints a picture, he begins a journey.  He says it starts when
he “walks into the canvas.”  Sometimes the journey lasts only hours,
sometimes days or weeks.  Sometimes he loses all track of time, but when he
does come back, he has created a finished work – a spiritual vision of how he
sees the world.

A self-taught
artist, poet, and performer, Monday travels to cities all over the United States
to show and sell his paintings, self-published books, CDs and poetry.  His
paintings and other works have been displayed in many fine art galleries
including the Scottsdale, Arizona, gallery of renowned marine muralist Wyland.
Monday’s art transfers to paper as well as canvas. And he has achieved
recognition for his poetry as a recipient of the Distinguished Poet Award, the
Dickinson Award of Amherst, and the National Golden Poet Award.

Stormy Monday
paints in several diverse styles. Put his typical show inventory of 100
paintings together in one gallery room and no one believes that one artist
created them all. His impressionistic visionscapes painted in oils are vast,
warm, and adorned with forms and faces of spirits both seen and unseen. His
watercolor and acrylic abstracts explode with color and intrigue and can be
impressionistic, cubist, or surreal. Made from oils, acrylics, chalk, duct tape,
or whatever else he feels might work, Monday’s multimedia, three-dimensional
abstracts are also colorful but can seem mysterious and turbulent.

All Monday’s styles are painted
to New Age jazz music, which he says provides him with certain energies. He
believes everything comes from within. His diverse artistic talents link with
his ability to see what is inside his soul. Nothing is planned. “I don’t
have the discipline that a student of fine arts would have,” Monday says.
“I don’t sketch or outline before I paint. I turn the energy inside me into
paint and canvas. When I am serene and at peace and in harmony with the
universe, it’s a visionscape. When I feel chaotic, it’s an abstract. And if I
throw the canvas on the floor, it’s definitely a three- dimensional abstract. As
far as I’m concerned, there are no rules.”
